INEPT - insensitive nuclei enhanced by polarization transfer

Polarization transfer that involves J-coupling. It's the building block of several experiments such as HSQC. As in this case there is also reverse INEPT, allowing transfer of polarization from low gyromagnetic ratio nuclei to those of high frequency. This records the signal of the former nucleus in an indirect manner, which is highly advantageous, because it allows :

  • 2D experiments
  • large signal enhancement
