A postdoctoral position is available immediately for a qualified candidate within the Magnetic Resonance Research Center (MRRC) of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

About the project

The candidate will be involved in MRS/MRSI studies of hepatocyte repopulation in a rodent model of liver failure and transplantation. Detection of the ectopic expression of CK is a major goal of the project, but the candidate will also be responsible for measuring vascular, metabolic and other signatures of tissue function. An 3.0 T Philips Achieva TX MRI/MRS system, as well as a 9.4 Tesla Varian Direct Drive system are available for this work.

Candidate requirements

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent and have expertise in MRS methods. Prior experience working with in vivo models in high field MRI/MRS systems is preferred.

The candidate should have experience in the in vivo application of high field magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) to the study of disease. The laboratory is staffed by physicians, chemists, physicists and others focused on translational use of MRI and MRS. Knowledge of the Varian MRI/MRS platform helpful but not necessary, provided other platforms have been used for in vitro or in vivo research by the candidate.
