Two postdoctoral positions are available in the group of Tobias Ulmer at the University of Southern California (USC).
One position focuses on the characterization of intrinsically unstructured proteins that underlie conformational diseases (e.g. a-synuclein and Parkinson’s disease). The second position examines the mechanism of signal transduction of cell surface receptors across the membrane (e.g. integrin cell-adhesion receptors).
The laboratory is host to a cryo-probe equipped Bruker 700 NMR spectrometer, a full range of biophysical instruments (ITC, CD, fluorescence, light scattering, electron microscope) and, on a collaborative basis, has access to X-ray diffractometer and EPR spectrometer.
