A postdoctoral/research associate position is available immediately in the Department of Biochemistry, Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, MA.

The position involves the characterization of the E6 protein of papillomavirus and its inhibitors using biophysical and biochemical techniques. Applicants should be highly motivated, self-starters with strong bench skills who can work independently and as part of a team.

The goal is understand the interaction of the E6 protein with its human cellular binding partners and to optimize low molecule weight inhibitors. Candidates for the postdoctoral fellow position must have a PhD degree in Biological sciences (biochemistry or closely related fields) with a strong research background.

The candidate should have experience in protein purification, the characterization of molecular interactions, NMR spectroscopy and possibly mammalian cell culture.
