A postdoctoral position in NMR/protein crystallography is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Michelle Krogsgaard at the Department of Pathology and NYU Cancer Institute, NYU Medical School in New York to study the biophysical basis of T-cell receptor recognition of self-antigens (Krogsgaard et al., Mol Cell, 2003; Krogsgaard et al., Nature, 2005; Krogsgaard and Davis, NI, 2005).

The laboratory is located in the Smilow Research Center: http://www.med.nyu.edu/smilowcenter/ , a new 13-story building with excellent research facilities on the NYU Medical School Campus located in mid-town Manhattan.

Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience.

Candidate requirements

  • interested candidates should have a recent Ph.D. in biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering or related fields.
  • experience in molecular biology, protein purification, and dynamic NMR structure analysis is ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY.
  • some experience in X-ray crystallography would be a significant plus.
  • the successful candidate is expected to be highly motivated, creative and capable of contributing productively in a team environment.
  • excellent publication record and communication skills in oral and written English are essential.
