Laboratory of Prof. Sepideh KhorasanIzadeh in the Department of Metabolic Signaling and Disease Program at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute in Orlando, Florida has an immediate opening for a Research Associate/Technician to characterize function of protein complexes.

Candiaate requirements

Experience in sub-cloning, expression, purification, and handling of recombinant proteins generated from bacterial expression systems is required. Knowledge in the following areas is preferred: UV-Vis spectroscopy, High-Performance Liquid Chromatography, Fluorescence spectroscopy, Circular Dichroism Spectroscopy, MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, Surface Plasmon Resonance, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy, isothermal titration calorimetry, and X-ray crystallography. Requirements: The successful candidate will have a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry or related topics, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience.

Applicant must have demonstrated ability to cooperate and work with others as demanded by the needs of a major research institute. S/he must be able to communicate effectively, demonstrate an interest in professional development, possess ability to define and resolve problems and be able to work independently. Successful applicants must be experienced with looking up published protocols as well as reading primary research publications in scientific journals.
