About this position
A postdoctoral position is presently available (into early 2010) in the NMR facility at Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) in Albuquerque, NM.
We are seeking highly motivated individuals to pursue research utilizing NMR spectroscopy in a national lab setting. This postdoctoral position involves the use of both computational efforts and solid state NMR techniques to look at the interaction of phosphates on material surfaces.
Candidate will be involved in ab initio calculation of NMR shielding tensors along with experimental studies involving the MAS NMR study of phosphate adsorption on materials. The fellow will also become involved in a variety of other collaborative projects. Experience in either solid state NMR spectroscopy or computational methods as applied to NMR spectroscopy is desired.
Salary is highly competitive and is for a 2 year position, with the possibility of extension.
Candidate requirements
The position requires a Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, material science or closely related field. Good communication skills are also required. For additional details see http://www.sandia.gov/materials/science/nmr_lab/.
