Two postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the group of Wolfgang Peti at Brown University.

One position focuses on the characterization of ser/thr protein phosphatase 1 and its role in cancer and diabetes. The second position examines novel signal transduction pathways in the innate immune system.

About the lab, Brown University and Facilities

The laboratory uses cryo-probe equipped Bruker 500 & 800 NMR spectrometer, and has in-house access to a full range of biophysical instruments (ITC (VP-ITC + ITC200), CD, DSC, fluorescence, light scattering, etc.). Furthermore, the laboratory uses X-ray crystallography to determine high-resolution structures and SAXS/WAXS for low resolution data analysis. Access to state of the art crystallization tools is available in-house. Work ethic in the laboratory is based on collaboration of highly motivated individuals within the group and with a large number of colleagues outside Brown University.

Brown University is an Ivy-League University and one of the leading research universities in New England (Northeast of US). Providence is a small enough city to settle in quickly, however provides many amenities of large cities. It is also one of the most affordable cities in the New England area.

How to apply

Interested candidates, with a background in either solution NMR spectroscopy or X-ray crystallography of proteins, should email a CV and the names of at least two references to Wolfgang_Peti at
