University of British Columbia, Department of Chemistry is seeking NMR Technician (Research Assistant/Tech 4).
This position is a maternity leave temporary replacement tenable for 14 months starting from April 01 2010.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include: assisting the departmental NMR facility manager to maintain four Bruker NMR spectrometers and their peripheral equipment; offer training and instruction to NMR users; help users to implement and develop NMR methods; and to occasionally run service samples for our NMR clients.
Candidate requirements
Masters Degree in Chemistry or Physics with a minimum of 2 years NMR (solution state preferable) experience. Must have good communication skills and be able to work in a team to ensure the smooth running of the facility that supports more than 200 users.
